The MFIS Logo Symbolism:

The abstract shape has a dual representation;

Firstly, that of a child holding up its arms in joy of learning
secondly,  the gold ‘arms’ representing Manitoba by the golden sheaves of wheat on the prairies during the harvest season.

The circle represents the circle of learning that has no beginning or end indicating that

 learning is never finished and is a lifelong task.
